I gave myself one day to see Little Rock. Seems like it was almost enough. First stop was the Art Center and its special exhibit of photographs of artist Frida Kahlo. It was very well done and the photographs were beautiful. There wasn’t much else to see other than an exhibit on Andy Warhol, my least favorite artist of all times.

The River Market is a fun area of eateries and shops. After checking them all out, I settled on Platinum Barbeque. And, it was enough for lunch and dinner. Barbeque meatloaf, sweet potatoes and fried okra. Delicious!

President Bill Clinton is a big deal all over Arkansas, so I felt compelled to visit his presidential library in Little Rock. The building is just beautiful and the exhibits compelling. I was reminded of how much I admired him and how much he accomplished as president. He did so much good for our country and the world. But, of couse, I also got upset thinking of the political world today.
Looking at all of the displays of Clinton’s campaigns brought back a great memory of when he had a rally in Westland. Using my press pass I got into the press area, as did my kids and their friends who were with me. I even managed to shake his hand after his speech. I will never forget how tall, good looking and charismatic he was. The funny thing was driving on the freeway behind the photographers bus and then getting turned away by the Secret Service at the Willow Run Airport. My kids thought I was nuts but I figured it was worth a try!

Also at the library was an exhibit of the American Crafts that the Clintons bought for the White House. I remember when that happened and really enjoyed seeing part of the collection.
What I learned today: 1. I really like fried okra; 2. Leaving after 4 pm for another city 2 hours away is dumb and stressful; and 3. Looking at photos I like is a good way to learn how to pose subjects for my photos.
